About Us

OUR AIM

The website aims to act as a focal point for the promotion of live Music Making in and around the Peterborough area, to encourage attendance at musical events as well as participation in live music, by the provision of information services for community groups and events and developing opportunities for member organisations.

HOW IS THIS DONE?

We encourage mutual support, sharing of skills and liaison for development of member groups.

Our EVENTS CALENDAR provides a list of musical events in and around Peterborough, and aims to reduce the number of events clashing by posting events as far in advance as possible.

The website provides information about member music-making groups, information links, and information resources to assist such groups.

HOW DID THIS COME ABOUT?

Four local voluntary organisations: City of Peterborough Symphony Orchestra, Peterborough Choral Society, Peterborough Male Voice Choir, and St. Peter’s Singers responded to a Making Music Eastern initiative in 2005.  An umbrella website was agreed as a route to achieve the aims, enabling further development and opportunities for expansion with similar voluntary groups in the area.
